Lila Lee Yancey Alexander, 96, former longtime resident of Old Williamsport Pike, died Monday, January 15, 2018, at Alexian Village in Signal Mountain where she had made her home for the past few years.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born September 17, 1921 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Everett L. Yancey and the late Georgia Ann Kirkwood Presley. On September 21, 1946, she married Sidney C. Alexander who preceded her in death April 7, 1982. She was a loving wife, a proud mother and grandmother, and trusted friend. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia (Dick) Hedrick of Greenwood, SC; son, Larry D. Alexander of Hixson; daughter-in-law, Jane Alexander of Columbia; grandchildren,
Lucy Lee Alexander, Benton (Jesse) Alexander, Robert (Whitney) Alexander, Sydney Alexander (Shannon Toon), Elizabeth Kelley, Amanda (Shane) Hodges, Kevin Follis, David Follis, Jennifer Follis (Jason) Brinley, Kenneth Lindberg; and great grandchildren, Thomas Hodges, Jordan Kelley, Zephy Kelley, Laurel Ann Alexander, Owen Alexander, Grayson Alexander, Abigale Alexander, Ansley Alexander, Addison Alexander, Allie Alexander, Ashlan Alexander, Liam Toon, Rhett Mercer, Sam Harvey, Desie Follis; and special friends, David & Sydney McClain and their family.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas L. “Tommy” Alexander and Joe Follis; daughter-in-law, Carleen Alexander; grandson, Louis Hedrick; and a sister, Billie Tiffany.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
