She was born Oct. 15, 1854 at Leroy, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. John Gibbs, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Charles Christian Mayer on April 10, 1871. They removed to Nebraska in the fall of 1888. They had 10 children with one dying in infancy. Two sons George and John preceded their mother in death after they had arrived at manhood years.
