CARLTON BLANCHARD DEMAREST, 86, of Park Ridge, formerly of Hackensack, died Wednesday.

Before retiring in 1958, he owned Jacod and Demarest Chrysler Agency, Hackensack, for 25 years.

Previously, he played baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates farm team in Williamsport, Pa., and for semi-professional teams in Ridgewood, Hackensack, Maplewood, and West New York.

He was a member of CMS and the Oritani Field Club, both in Hackensack, and Temple Masonic Lodge 173, Westwood.

Surviving are his wife, Muriel C. Klug Demarest; a daughter, Jean M. Roman of Park Ridge; a brother, Ronald of Saddle Brook; three sisters, Geneva Ross of Bogota, Mabel Woeckner of Teaneck, and Anna Brostrom of Bergenfield, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Park Ridge, with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Visiting is today and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic service Friday at 8 p.m.
