March 8, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1944, son of the late
John and Lanieta (Bowe) Richter. On November 18, 1967, he married
Linda Snyder at United Church of Christ in Kaukauna. They celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on November 18, 2017. Ron worked at the
Brillion Iron Works, retiring after 32 years of service. Ron filled his life
with his love for horticulture, gardening and 4-H. He was Horticulture
Project Leader for 37 years and served for 35 years as the superintendant of
the Exhibition Building at the Calumet County Fairgrounds. In 2017, Ron
was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame, an honor her was very proud of.
He founded the Calumet County Master Gardeners and was Co-founder of
the State Master Gardeners Association. He loved his family, children and
grandchildren, and being a part of all the things they were doing. Survivors
include his wife Linda, a son, Dan (Lisa) Richter of New Mexico and their
children, Katrina, Ashley and Jon, a daughter Cindy (Dan) Hakkert of
Chilton and their family, Alex and Colin, a sister Ilera "Helen" Heckel of
Appleton, 2 God children, Jeff and Annie and many other nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his
in-laws, John (Marjorie) Snyder, a brother and his wife, Delmar (Ruby)
Richter and a sister Irene Windsor. Funeral service will be held on
Tuesday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion.
The Rev. Dale Eggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Brillion
Community Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Wieting Funeral
Home in Brillion on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and then again on Tuesday
