Mrs.Laura Overstake, 77, of Bloomington, died at 8:43 pm Thursday in the Mennonite hospital, Bloomington. She had been ill about two years.

Mrs.Overstake lived in Decatur from 1892 until 1933 when she moved to Bloomington and opened Grandmothers cafe. She managed the restaurant there with the help of her daughter, Miss Mable Overstake until her death.

Mrs. Overstake the former Laura Edith Brown was born Sept. 19, 1876 in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was married to Perry Overstake, Dec.21,1892 in Decatur. He preceded her in death. Surviving besides Miss Overstake and three other daughters, Mrs.Edith Mackey of Toledo, Ohio,Mrs. Hazel Reddix of Montpelier,Ohio and Mrs. Ethel Talbott of Decatur, one son Charles of Chicago, a brother,Will of Decatur three sisters, Mrs. Edith smith of Oreana and Mrs.Frank Greau and Mrs. Albert Boggs, both of Decatur, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:0 pm Monday in Beck Memorial home, Bloomington. Burial in La Place cemetery.
