Russell Edward Demers, 52, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving siblings. He is home at last and free of the pain and suffering that Cancer brought into his life. He gave his life to Christ for the assurance and confidence of the fulfillment of God's promise.
Born Russell Edward Demers on May 28, 1965 in Willimantic to Adelard and Harriet Demers he was a twin to Henry Demers.
He is survived by his brothers Leo Demers of Waterbury, George Demers of Danielson and John Demers of South Carolina and his sisters Ida Schmidt of Preston, Shirley LeMay of Uncasville and Angel Laporta of Florida. He leaves behind one daughter: Adriene Lynne Bates of Savannah, Georgia and two grandchildren: Michael and Danielle Bates as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at Church and Allen Funeral home at 136 Sachem Street in Norwich on Friday March 16 from 6pm to 9pm and a Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday March 17th at 11am also at Church and Allen funeral home.
