Susan M. Stock, age 52, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Racine, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Broward General Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., following a courageous battle with cancer.
Susan was born in Kenosha, Sept. 2, 1954, daughter of Kenneth and Nancy (nee: Scholzen) Belongia.
Susan was a graduate of Holy Name Grade School and Park High School "Class of 1973." On Sept. 24, 1983, at Wustum Museum, she was united in marriage to Dale A. Stock. Susan had been employed by St. Mary's Medical Center as a dietary assistant for 21 years and was a member of the Racine Yacht Club. In 1998 she relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where she was employed as an insurance rater for Benefit Port Insurance. She loved sailing and making jewelry. Above all she treasured time spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband: Dale A. Stock of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her mother: Nancy Belongia of Racine; her grandmother: Rose Scholzen of Racine; brother: Keith Belongia of Racine; sister: Pamela Belongia of Racine; mother-in-law: Pearl Stock of Manitowoc; step-daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer (Bob) Ashley of Oconto; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Nancy (Bruce) Stock Woodard of Key West, Fla.;, Carol (Paul) Johnston of Manitowoc; Dennis Stock of Manitowoc; her beloved cat: Princess; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father: Kenneth Belongia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. at Racine Yacht Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Susan to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
