Mr. Avery Brewer Jr, 93, passed away at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living on March 14, 2018. He was born on May, 24, 1924 to Sarah Evans Brewer and Avery Brewer, Sr. in Forsyth County. Avery was a life-long member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing, and trips to the beach. But most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Avery was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Linda B. Moore; as well as siblings, Flossie Doub, Roy Brewer, Grover Brewer, Hazel Waters, Carrie Giampetro, Barney Brewer, and Fannie Fairley. Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Toni Brewer; two daughters, Joan Brewer Fulcher and husband, Terry of Winston-Salem; Ellen Brewer Moore and husband Gary of Harrisburg, NC; four grandchildren, Clay Fulcher and wife, Jody, Erica Gray, Michael Fulcher and wife, April, and Brad Moore; great grandchildren, Jimmy Fulcher, Katelyn Gray, Gillian Gray, Cody Moore, Eli Fulcher, and Amelia Fulcher; special nieces and nephews; and loving caregivers. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Allred and Rev. Ken Eller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Clemmons Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:15-3:15 prior to the service at the church.
