Manitowoc - Walter "Wally" R. Meyer, age 96, a resident of St. Mary's of Felician Village Manitowoc, died Friday morning, February 23, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Wally was born on June 24, 1921 in Cato, son of the late Joseph and Clara (Vogel) Meyer. He attended St. Michael School at Whitelaw. On December 28, 1979, Wally married the former Eldora Alma Zunker at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2002. Wally worked the family farm in the township of Franklin until his retirement in March of 1993. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Holy Name Society of St. Michael Parish. Wally enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law: Wilma Meyer and Marion Heath both of Manitowoc; Luellis Meyer, Cato; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Clara Meyer; his wife: Eldora Meyer; six brothers: Herman, Arthur, Martin Mark, Edmund, and Richard Meyer; five sisters: Alice Sleger; Helen Linder; Josephine Tomcheck; Monica Kopidlansky and Caroline Hanna.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Blessed Angela Chapel, St. Mary's Home, 1635 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of his cremated remains in the spring at the St. Michael Cemetery, Whitelaw. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the donor's choice in Wally's name. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com
