Magdaline L. Sondag, 80, of 910 4th North S., New Ulm died Sunday, May 7, 2000 at Sleepy Eye Care Center.

Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. St. Elizabeth's Society will pray the rosary at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will also be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Sondag of New Ulm; daughters, Norma Jean Sondag of Bloomington, and Mary Sondag of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Rita Sondag of Rosemont, Douglas and Lucille Sondag of Springfield, and David and Bonnie Sondag of New Ulm; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Granby Township, Nicollet County, to Henry and Phillamine (nee Weiller) Zins. She attended District 20 school in Granby Township.

On Feb. 12, 1945, she married Charles Sondag at the Swan Lake Catholic Church in Brighton Township, Nicollet County. They farmed in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County. She was a homemaker. They moved into New Ulm in 1968. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Christian Mothers Society, and St. Elizabeth's Society.
