An angel was sent from above by the name of Lalya Briggs also known as LayLay. She took her first breath on December 25th, 2016 and was called by the Almighty Lord to be with him on March 14, 2018. Her death was very devastating and such a tragedy for everyone who loved her.
During the brief time she was here on earth she was loved by many. Her smile would brighten up your day even if you weren’t up to it. Layla was a very happy baby who was full of joy and happiness. Her favorite thing to do was dancing. As soon as she heard music she would get excited and rock her little body back and forth. She also enjoyed eating food. Anyone who knew Layla knew she didn’t play when it came to food. She would even go and open the refrigerator to look for something to eat. Even times you would find a piece of frank bitten off, that was her way of telling us she wanted something to eat.
Throughout this short period of time Layla had five words she used to continuously say. They were Eat, Teeth, Hi, Hot and Hat. For 14 months she has been with us she has held a very special place amongst us all.
Layla Briggs has been called home but has left special memories with us all to live and cherish forever. Her body may not be physically here with us but her spirit will remain with us until eternity.

On Wednesday, she was found murdered. According to authorities, her father murdered her, his step-father and his half-brother before turning the gun on himself in the apartment where they all lived.
