She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sneed and Ethel Womack Sneed: siblings, James Sneed, Ruby Stepp, Hazel Bell, Earl Sneed, Ralph Sneed, Elizabeth Miles and Charlie Sneed.
Dot loved serving and caring for others. She was an avid fan of Southern Gospel music and she always enjoyed traveling with her family. She loved reading the Bible and Christian books. She was a member of the City View Church of God and Crosspointe in Dalton.
Survivors include her children: son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Howard; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joe Purcell; daughters, Vickie Martin Crider and Wanda Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Tena Martin, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Arvil Stepp and a sister-in-law, Margaret Sneed Crow.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Dorothy "Dot" Martin will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be her loving grandsons. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Sunday, March 18, from 4 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at Little Prospect Memorial Grounds.
