Detective Thomas J. “Tommy” Kinsella, Everett P.D. (Ret), 73, of Peabody, husband of Bernice S. “Bernie” Sacramone Kinsella, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Amesbury. Tommy was born in Malden on May 24, 1944 son of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Allen) Kinsella.

Raised in Malden, he graduated from Malden High School in 1966 and pursued his education at Western New England University where he received a B.S. in Law Enforcement and Criminology. His law enforcement career began as an Everett Police Department Patrolman on November 28, 1966 and retired as a Detective on April 14, 2003. During his 37 years with the department he became friends with numerous other law enforcement officers.

Tommy played hockey into his 60’s, was an avid Bruins fan, and a member of the Danvers Fish and Game and the NRA.

In addition to his wife Bernie of 30 years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tami K. and Michael Ruggelo and his granddaughter, Kelsey E. Seward, all of Amesbury.

Also survived by a brother and his wife, Robert and Joan Kinsella of Tewksbury, and 3 nieces and their spouses, Laurie and Robert Alconda, Kristen and Michael Bodurack, and Erin Kaplan.

He was also predeceased by his former wife Gail Kinsella.

Burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake Street, Peabody.
