Bernard E. "Butch" Shedal, age 77, of 12030 Cherney Rd. Mishicot, entered into eternal life on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc.

Butch was born March 25, 1934 in Boldt, WI to the late Peter and Anna Sladky Shedal and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Patricia Haelfrisch on September 20, 1958 at Zion United Methodist Church in Mishicot. He worked for the Mirro Corporation and the H. Richberg Meat Co. in Manitowoc and later worked for the Wiebensonn Mink Ranch in Mishicot. Butch loved to go deer hunting and fishing. He liked putzing around outside in his shed or down by his pond. He enjoyed working in his garden with his different gourds and pumpkins. He also had a special little rufffled grouse that followed him around every day right by his side. The grouse would greet him in the morning when he got up and walk down to the pond with him. He was Butch's little buddy and would follow him everywhere. They would even have snacks together.

Butch is survived by his wife Patricia, and his children Jane and Jan Richmond, of Sheboygan, Jerry and Barb Shedal, of Newton, Tina and Mike Slezewski, of Pulaski, Terri and Tim Enfors, of Two Rivers, Mary and Mike Drossart, of Manitowoc and by his grandchildren, Casey, Rikki, Brandon, Cassie, Katrina, Kayla, Cole, Troy, Tanya, Brett and Brooke, one great-grandchild, Bently. He is further survived by one brother, LaVerne "Sonny" Shedal, of Mishicot, six sisters, Violet (Dave) Kraft, of Alabama, Vivian Schmidt, of Neenah, Leona Siebert, of Two Rivers, Bernice (Warren) Wentorf, of Two Rivers, Beatrice Novak, of Mishicot, Rosanna (Louis) Kovarik, of Whitelaw and by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Haelfrisch, of Mishicot, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sharon and Merle Aerts, of Greenleaf, Gary Haelfrisch, of Francis Creek, Janice and Dennis Wolff, of Grafton, Cindy Frederick, of Germantown, Brian and Polly Haelfrisch, of Mishicot, and Wally Haelfrisch, of Kewaskum, a sister-in-law, Carol Nehring, of Two Rivers, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Nehring, a brother-in-law, Gordon Siebert, two sisters-in-law, Elmyra Shedal, and Carol Lutterman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Zion United Methodist Church in Mishicot, with Pastor Joan Frost officiating. Entombment will take place in the Knollwood Mausoleum Hwy 310 Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (TONIGHT) at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. Visitation will continue after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the Zion United Methodist Church in Mishicot, until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.

The Shedal family would like to thank the entire staff of the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center's Critical Care Unit, and to Dr. Campbell for all the efforts you put forth for Butch. Your kindness will always be remembered.
