Uncle Bill was the 7th of 9 children born to James Henry and Delilah Katherine Vanderpool Hammons in a soddy on the Nebraska praire. He was a kind man that worked hard all his life. He was a good husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Uncle Bill married Alta Vanderveen in Twin Falls Idaho on April 3, 1917. The minister was his own Uncle Joel Hammons. He was the father of 6 children. Wilma, Ila, Bobby, Edna, Marnell and Ronald. Bobby and Ronald preceeded him in death.
