Alvena Ann ''Vennie'' Blasdel, age 82, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Blasdel was born March 9, 1936 in Pine River Village, Minnesota to the late William and Elsie Gillmore Koester. A lifetime resident of the area, she was a 1954 graduate of Yellville-Summit High School, and attended Yellville Methodist Church. She followed her husband all over the world during his 20-year Air Force career. She enjoyed quilting and gardening and was a member of the local ladies mug club. Above all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a kind word for everyone.

Vennie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lt. Col. Lloyd Blasdel (ret.) of the home; two sons: William Blasdel and his wife, Becky, of Yellville, Arkansas; Erick Blasdel of Flippin, Arkansas; two daughters: Carla Campbell and her husband, John, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Terry Karnes and her husband, Mike, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one sister-in-law Wilma Koester of Altus, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Blasdel will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Howard Gene Saylors and Niall Blasdel officiating.

Interment will follow at Peel Cemetery in Peel, Arkansas.
