William, like his father, was a blacksmith and both men spent their lives on a small farm east of St. Bernice, Indiana.

His newspaper obituary in The Newport Hoosier State, August 6,1902, related, "William Price, an estimable citizen of St. Bernice, died at 10 o'clock one week ago last Sunday. He had always resided in that locality, and was respected by everyone. He left a wife and 9 children."
