Ken was born July 6, 1928 in Harmony, NC, son of the late Otis Edward Albea and Edna Hayes Arthurs. His brother, Bobby L. Albea, and sister, Marjorie Burgess, preceded him in death.
Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a long-time member of Sunset Park Baptist Church. Ken retired as a B.F. Goodrich Tire Store Manager after 23 years of service. He was an avid gardener and loved to share his vegetables with his friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Carleta Iddings Albea; three children, Andrea Jordan (Mike) of Wilmington, Kenneth E. Albea, Jr. (Becky) and Mark Steven Albea, all of Pittsboro, NC; six grandchildren, Lauren VanHook (Will), Amy Preast (Dewey), Jeremy Albea, Chris White (Vicky), Mike Jordan (Mary), and Zach Jordan (Kelly); and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead.
