SHIRLEY A. BANEY, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Paulding, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Wilma (Lyon) Friend. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church, New Haven. She was a past member American Legion Auxiliary Post 47, Fort Wayne. She retired in 1995 from Magnavox Corp. after 36 years. She enjoyed golfing and bowling. Surviving are her sons, Robert (Sue) Byrd of New Haven and William (Marglo) Byrd of Tampa, Fla.; stepchildren, Dwane (Ann) Baney of Lexington, Ohio, and Vickie (Bill) McEldwoney of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Jay, in 2012; and son, Richard. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd 930 E., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials to the church.
