Enlisted, January 23, 1903, in Troop 1, Squadron A, NYNG, New York City.

April 27 - May 3, 1903, Squadron A took part in the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition ceremonies, at St. Louis.
May 30. 1903, Squadron A took part in the dedication of the statue to General Sherman, Fifth-ninth Street and Fifth Avenue, NYC.
March 3 - 6, 1905, as a member of the Squadron A, he took part in the inauguration of President T. Roosevelt, Washington, DC.

He was discharged from Squadron A March 20, 1908.

He served in Squadron A with his brother Stuart C. Adams

In 1916 when Squadron A Cavalry was federalized for service, on the Mexican border, a call went out to former members to enlist in the Depot Squadron. On March 14, 1916 he enlisted in Troop A Depot Squadron A. He served in the Depot Squadron thru the Mexican border and again in World War 1.

World War 1, commissioned, 2nd Lieutenant, Quartermaster Corps, April 39, 1918. He served in France with the AEF. Returned to the States aboard the SS Rotterdam, February 5, 1919, from Brest France, and docked at Hoboken, NJ, February 17, 1919. He was discharge from the service, March 17, 1919.
