Myrna Loy was born in Sidney, MT on July 28, 1933, the daughter of William “Dude” and Loy (Ludington) Cummins. They lived by Lone Tree Spillway, where her dad Dude, was a ditch rider. The family moved south of Sidney where Myrna spent winters ice skating on Holly Lake and swimming in the irrigation ditch in the summers. Myrna attended schools in Sidney and graduated from Sidney Senior High School in 1951. Following graduation, she attended Normal School where she received her teaching certificate.
Myrna taught school at Estes School where she met and married, Ole Olson on May 28, 1952. They farmed and ranched at Sheep Butte, ND and later at Skaar Route and Crane, MT.

In 1977, they moved to Sidney where Myrna was in Knitting Club, Class of 1951, Moose Lodge and the Sons of Norway. She was a member of the Peoples Congregational Church. In 2013, they moved to Billings, MT when her husband, Ole, needed more care. Ole died in October of 2014 and Myrna remained in Billings. With her health falling, she entered St. John’s Lutheran Home. Myrna died on Monday morning, March 26, 2018, at the Senior Independent Hospice, of the St. John Lutheran Home, Billings, MT.

Myrna is survived by her son, Andy (Vanessa) Olson; her daughters, Debbie (Loren) Larsen and Connie (Dena Schlaht) Olson; her grandchildren, Ole (Alison) Peterson, Ginny (Bo) Segeberg, Christopher and Kailey Olson; her great grandchildren, Chancy and LB Segeberg, Reese, Claye and Holt Peterson; brother-in-law, Clarence Olson; sister-in-law, Lois Olson; and many cousins.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ole, and grandson Chancy.

Myrna's cremains will be interred in the Bethel-Melland Cemetery at a later date
