LOGAN — Funeral services for Melvin Andrews Jr., 20, who drowned early Thursday morning at Udie Hot Springs near Plymouth, Box Elder County, will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Logan Ninth-Fifteenth Ward Chapel. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by E. W. Heaton, bishop.

Friends may call at the family home, 524 N. 2nd East, Monday from 10 a.m. to time of services. Burial will be in Logan Cemetery under direction of Kenneth Lindquist Mortuary, Logan.

Youth Drowns In Box Elder

PLYMOUTH, Box Elder County (Special) — Tragedy struck near this small northern Utah community for the second time in a few weeks Thursday morning when a 20 year-old Utah State University Agricultural College student was drowned "during a midnight swimming party."

The body of Melvin Andrews Jr., son of Melvin Andrews Sr., 520 N. 2nd East, Logan, was removed from the waters of Udie Hot Springs at 6 a.m., a little more than five hours after he had been reported missing by companions.

At the pool, located approximately 1 1/2 miles southwest of Plymouth, the Andrews youth was swimming toward the middle of the spring when at about 1 a.m. his two companions missed his presence.
