Duncan's first marriage was to Clarice McGee of Elmhurst, Illinois. They had two daughters, Kathy and Karen. His second marriage was to Margy Harris on May 9, 1970. Margy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Duncan had four step children with Margy: Janet, Sally, Doug and Lisa.

Duncan was an Army pilot in WW2 under Gen. MacArthur. Served in the Battle of the Bulge.
