Funeral services for Alpheus F. Russell, 72, of 108 West Twenty-sixth Street, will be held tomorrow afternoon at the McCrery Funeral Home, 2700 Washington Street. The Rev. Dr. Willard G. Purdy of First and Central Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Mr. Russell, retired engineer of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died of a heart attack on Saturday. He was born in Wilmington, a son of the late George M and Nancy Russell. He had worked for the railroad 45 years when he retired two years ago and his last run was on the Delaware Road.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Annie Russell, three children, Mrs W Harold Smith, Seaford, and Carl and George Russell of Wilmington; two brothers, Gilpen and Clarence Russell; a sister, Mrs Allen Barnes, all of Wilmington; and six grandchildren.
