Margaret E. Russell, 89, of 6 Glenside Ave., Silview, Newport, died Tuesday in Christiana Hospital, near Stanton.
Mrs. Russell, a homemaker, was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, 36th and Washington streets. She enjoyed family gatherings and tending her plants.
Her husband of 58 years, Carl G. Russell, died in 1981. She is survived by two daughters, Beryl R. Miller of Breezewood, Rehoboth Beach, and Beverly R. Alexander of Foulk Woods; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 33rd and North Market streets.
