Ethel M. Van Leishout, 83, of New Denmark, died Saturday Oct. 17, 1998, at a Green Bay hospital.
She was born May 29, 1915 to the late Peter and Katherine (Steinberger) Engledinger and was a lifelong resident of the Denmark area.
On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Joseph Van Leishout. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1980. Ethel loved spending time in her garden and took great pride in her roses. She also enjoyed making quilts.
Survivors include three sons; Vincent (Judy) Bradley, Chilton; Maynard Dan Leishout, Denmark; and William (Mary) Van Leishout, Two Rivers; one daughter-in-law: Mary Lou Bradley, Manitowoc; one stepdaughter, Eileen Bradley, Green Bay; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Konop, Kewaunee and Mable Kitell, Menchalville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild, Jared Bradley; three brothers, Art Engledinger, Edward Engledinger, and infant Michael; four sisters, Alice Engledinger, Mayme Krueger, Helen Kakes and Clara Steese.
Friends may all at Knutson Cotter Funeral Home, 356 County Highway R. Denmark, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 20, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. A prayer service is to be held Wednesday with the Rev. Ronald Colombo officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Cooperstown.
The family would like to thank the Viking Rescue Squad, the Allouez Rescue Squad, Dr. Laura Vogel, Dr. Jeremy Green, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Zse, the CCU and the seventh-floor staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Jody Klaubau, Ron Olivera, Beth LaFrenier, Wendy Gronmark, Dr. Rank, Dr. Coup, West Side Clinic and staff and the Oddfellows Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
