Mrs. John Keenan died at her home in Chicago on Thursday, May 18, aged 81 years.

Mrs. Keenan was born in Cloyne Parish, County Cork, Ireland, on March 17, 1830. She immigrated to this country at the age of 22 and resided in Providence, Rhode Island two years. In July 1854 she came to Manitowoc county and on the 4th of October 1856 was married to John Keenan at the Rapids. They moved to Cooperstown and settled on a farm. Mr. Keenan died 27 years ago. Mrs. Keenan resided on the old farm for 39 years, removing to Chicago 17 years ago.

She was the mother of five children four of whom survive. They are Nicholas Keenan of Maribel, Miss Jane Keenan and Mrs. Raggreo of Chicago and Mrs. Fagan of Stanley, Wis.

Mrs. Keenan was a woman who was highly esteemed and during her long residence here had a large circle of friends.

Her remains were brought here for burial. The funeral was held Monday from St. James' church.

May her soul rest in peace.
