Dorothy Pond Hines, 81, passed away March 19, 2002. The memory of her love of life and devotion to family is celebrated by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Alex Conlyn; son, Thomas James Hines; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mark Stoltenberg; and grandchildren, Mason, Chelsea, Ryan; and step granddaughter, Elisabeth; as well as two sisters, and many other relatives, friends and neighbors. She is the widow of Robert Lee Hines. She moved from Idaho to Richmond after World War II to marry Robert, whom she had met at the Army Air base in Pocatello, Idaho, where she was working and he was stationed. She was retired from Sears Roebuck. She was a long-time member of First Congregational Church, and had recently joined Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Glen Allen. She enjoyed her friendships and activities with her churches and at the Short Pump YMCA. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Conlyn home, 9606 Meredith Woods Court, Glen Allen. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at Shady Grove UMC, Glen Allen. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your church or favorite charity.
