BURLINGTON, VT. - Frances "Frankie" Adrienne (Viens) Balch, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2nd 2018.

Frankie was born on December 26, 1927 in St. Angele de Monnoire, Quebec, Canada, she was the second youngest child of Albert Paul and Blanche (Beaulieu) Viens.

Her family moved to St. Albans, Vt. where she attended school.

She was employed by Ma Bell as an Operator until she met the love of her life and married; Frank Anderson Balch on October 1st 1949. He predeceased her on September 25th 2009.

In 1959 they moved to Burlington, Vt. where Frank began a career at WJOY.

In 1971, they acquired a majority interest in in the Company (Vermont Broadcasting Corp.) which they maintained until the business was sold in 1983.

Frankie spent many years volunteering and raising their two children.

She was predeceased by four brothers; John P. Viens, Marcel Joseph Viens on September 3rd 1985, Gerard "Jerry" Joseph Viens on June 20th 2004, and Richard Albert Viens Sr., four sisters; Jeanne (Viens) Beaulieu on January 22nd 1979, Simone Angel (Viens) Montagne in August of 1980, Juliette Alberta (Viens) Paquette on January 29th 1995, and Lucille "Lucy" Marietta (Viens) Shepard on November 14th 2010, along with many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements by the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Services on 132 Main Street in Winooski, Vt.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2018 at 11:00 am at the Resurrection Park Cemetery on 200 Hinesburg Road in South Burlington, Vt.
