"Gardner - Maude W. Gardner, August 22, at Princeton, N.J., widow of George Cadogan Gardner of Chicago, Ill, mother of Catherine Gardner McKay. Services Monday, August 25, at 4 p.m. at chapel of Ewing Cemetery Association, Ewingville, N.J."
Maude was the daughter of Francis L. Withaup (1840 Mo - 1909 St. Louis), and Electa E. Smith (1845 Oh - 1914 Mo.). She married George Cadogan Gardner on November 11, 1900 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Maude and George Gardner had one daughter, Catherine Gardner (1904-1985) who was married twice, the first to Hugh Dean McKay and the second to Edwin Charles Parsons.
Maude had at least 2 sisters:
1. Alice Withaup Orchard (1873-1941). She married Charles H. Orchard (1860-1933). They had one son named Francis Madison Orchard (1887-1966).
2. Alma Frances Withaup Thompson (1869-1937). She married Dr. John A. Thompson (1864-1935). I have not been able to locate any children from this union.
