Helene A. Arlukowicz Seroka, 85, a former resident of Ringtown and Shenandoah, passed away peacefully early Easter Sunday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Shenandoah, Sept. 23, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sahutsky Arlukowicz.

She was a 1950 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Prior to her retirement she was employed at the former Cigar Factory, Mahanoy City, and the former Apple of My Eye Children's Store, Shenandoah.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that a lifelong member of St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah. She was also a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation 175 and the former St. Casimir Ladies Auxiliary Guild, both of Shenandoah. In addition, Helene was a member and past president of the Polish Ladies Social Club and was a former member and officer of the Ringtown Area Activities Organization (RAAO).

However, being with her loving family was of most importance to her; she treasured them and their time together.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Anthony J. "Winky" Seroka; her daughter-in-law, Audrey Seroka; two brothers, Anthony and John Arlukowicz, and a sister, Jean Wargo.

Surviving are a son, Glen Seroka, Ringtown; two daughters, Debora Blaschak and her husband, Anthony, Barnesville, and Janet Lukashunas and her husband, David, Shenandoah Heights; four grandchildren, Jeremy Seroka, Tamara Blaschak, Jenna Roland and her husband, Adam, and Janette Lukashunas; a sister, Stella Salvadore, Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Church, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, the Sacred Worship Site of Divine Mercy Parish. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Church. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Father Walter J. Ciszek Chapel Memorial Fund or Divine Mercy Parish Memorial Fund, both in c/o 108 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, PA 17976, and will be available at the church during the time of visitation. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S.
