Debi Hensley Shelton, 64, of Greeneville, died Thursday at the home of her daughter.

She was a 1972 graduate of Daniel Boone High School in Washington County.

She was primarily employed in the retail industry until her illness prevented her from working.

She enjoyed researching family history, reading, spending time with her family and vacations to Gatlinburg and the beach. She was especially proud of her Scottish heritage, and attended many area Celtic festivals over the years with her daughters.

She is survived by her husband: Robert Shelton, of Greeneville; two daughters and a son-in-law: Regan and Martijn Kleinendorst, of Greeneville, and Kelly Shelton, of Greeneville; granddaughter: Willow Kleinendorst; mother-in-law: Berta Vee Shelton, of Greeneville; a special aunt and uncle: Delores and Douglas Hammitt, of Johnson City; brothers-in-law and their spouses: Gary and Debbie Shelton, Jim and Tonya Shelton, and Tim and Barbara Shelton, all of Greeneville; sister-in-law and spouse: Beverly and Terry "Boscoe" Reaves, of Greeneville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents: B.L. and Hilda Hatley Hensley; and father-in-law: Leonard "Moose" Shelton.

The family expressed thanks to the wonderful staff of Caris Hospice for their support.

At her request, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. She is to be cremated and buried at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens with her husband.
