Alice Mae Bittle, 75, of Pinckneyville, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:20 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab.

Alice had been a waitress and bartender. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was born November 14, 1942 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Arendell) Stanhouse.

She married Clarence Horwath and he preceded her in death. She then married Arthur Bittle and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children, Leonard Hedrick of Joliet, Holley Maitland of Essex, Dorothy Porter and husband, Bill, of Du Quoin, Richard Horwath and wife, Lisa, of Joliet, and Kerry Horwath and Thomas of Louisville, KY; one sister, Judy Withers of Du Quoin; twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; aunts; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Eric Horwath; one sister, Katie Krause; and one grandson, Michael Garcia.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with Bill Porter officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
