Mr. Glenn Head, age 85 of Rockmart passed away Tuesday morning, September 19, 2017.

Mr. Head was born May 25, 1932 in Rockmart, son of the late Mark Head and the late Lois Dobbs Head. He was a graduate of the Rockmart High School Class of 1951 and attended Coosa Valley Technical College for two years studying to be a tool and die maker. Mr. Head was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockmart where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and retired from Georgia Power’s Plant Bowen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Head and Mildred Martin; and a brother, Albert Head.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Glenda Morgan Head; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Sammy Barrett; sister, Clara Scott all of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Cody (Stephanie) Barrett and Victoria Barrett also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Head will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. Jason Odom and Rev. Barry Snapp officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Antioch Cemetery with presentation of the US Flag by American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends in the Great Room of the First Baptist Church on Thursday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Tim Hurt, David Vest, Jimmy Norris, Skip Sproull, Jerry Adair and Mark Martin.

Floral donations will be accepted or those wishing to do so, may make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church, Whole Heart Building Fund, P. O. Box 388, Rockmart, GA 30153 in memory of Mr. Head.
