Georgette Antoinette Allender age 90, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Vista Woods Care Center, Ottumwa.

There will be a graveside memorial service 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Memorial Lawn, Fairfield, IA with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

Georgette was born August 22, 1927 in Leven, Belgium to Jean Cecile and Jeanne (Breysem) Toison. She married Charles Kermit Allender January 14, 1958 in Ames, IA. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before he passed away February 19, 2012.

Throughout Georgette’s life she lived in Fairfield, Ottumwa, Ames, Iowa City and Des Moines. While living in Ottumwa she was owner of G’s Used Clothes and was a meter maid in Ottumwa and Ames. Georgette liked to travel, go to flee markets and old threshers. She collected purses, shoes, watches and sports cars. Georgette enjoyed sitting outside watching people.

Georgette is survived by two sisters, Lucienne Thompson and Bertha (Richard) Geldof ; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and 3 brothers.
