Arthur was born on August 14, 1922 in Worcester, MA to Mary (Heikkila) and Arvo Lindroos. He received both Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1943 and 1944, respectively. After serving as a Navy officer in the Pacific Theatre in World War II, he went on to acquire a Doctorate of Chemical Engineering from Yale University in 1949. His working career was spent in research and development of pharmaceuticals and plastics until his retirement in 1990. He moved to Sandwich in 1992 from Mountain Lakes, NJ.
Dr. Lindroos is survived by Helen (Nieminen), his beloved wife of 63 years; daughter Valerie Taff and husband Paul of Andover, CT; son David Lindroos of Sandwich; daughter Pamela Lindroos and partner Chris Chinchar of Durham, NC; daughter Cecily Brown of Greenville, DE; and grandchildren Stephanie Taff, Kathryn Lindroos, and Andrew, Amanda, Brian, and Matthew Brown.
