Mrs. Maude Bower Townsend, 76, of 431 E. Seneca Street, died in Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Forest City Chapter 436, O.E.S., W.C.T.U., Hawthorn Rebekah Lodge 163, and other organizations.
She is survived by two sons, Police Commissioner Leslie B. Townsend, Ithaca and Clayton Bower Townsend of Ludlowville; a niece, Mrs. Susie Brown of South Lansing; three grandchildren, Clifford, Zoe, and Miss Ruth Townsend, all of Ithaca.
Funeral services will be held in the First Methodist Church. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
