Mrs. Amy Dunn, 88, of Dixon, Is Sumoned
Daughter of Pioneer Pastor Succumbs; Burial At Old Home.
Dixon, Ia., March 15 -- Mrs. Amy M. Dunn, aged 88 years, died in the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. Myra E. Luse, Cedar Rapids, Wednesday after a long illness. Mrs. Dunn, formerly Amy Mowry, was born in Aponaug, R.I., March 20, 1841. The family moved to Iowa in 1852, when she was 11 years of age; her father, Junia S. Mowry, being a pioneer misister. In May, 1863, she married Edmund Dunn, Big Rock. They lived in that community until about 30 years ago when they moved to Marion. Her husband preceded her in death in May, 1923, the year of their golden wedding anniversary. For the last 10 years she had made her home in Cedar Rapids. Besides Mrs. Luse she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, a step daughter, Mrs. Lillie M. Thompson, Manilla, Ia. Funeral services were held yesterday morning, conducted by the Rev. I.E. Linkletter, and burial was in Allen's Grove cemetery near Dixon.
