Anastacio G. Gonzalez, 84, Hillsboro, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 7:22 p.m.

Anastacio was born in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico on December 25, 1933. He was the son of the late Augustine and Teodola (Grimaldo) Gonzalez.

Anastacio was raised and educated in Mexico and later moved to the United States as a bracero worker in 1962. He worked as a migrant worker mainly in Texas and Florida for many years. He later moved to Indiana and settled in Marion and worked at Malable Foundry and later Active Products Corporation until his retirement in 1998. He later moved to Wabash and then to Crawfordsville. He has resided in Hillsboro for the past 18 years. Anastacio became a U.S. citizen in 1997.

While living in Marion, Anastacio was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church. Anastacio enjoyed farming, gardening, rifles, building, counting, practicing his writing skills, his family, talking with friends, watching movies, listening to music and spending time with his animals.

Anastacio was first married to Maria Dimas and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1991. He later married Arcelia Carrillo Montaňo on January 28, 1994 in Wabash, Indiana.

Anastacio leaves behind his wife, Arcelia of 24 years; four children, Casandra Gonzalez and Carlos Gonzalez, both of Hillsboro; Arlene (Ernesto) Cabello and Teodola (Salvadore) Rojas, both of Wabash, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Sophia Nowell Gonzalez, Elizabeth and Ricardo Trejo, Ernesto, Cabello, Jr., Adrian Cabello and Manuel Cabello; Maria Angelina Rojas, Rito and Vanessa Rojas, Sergio Rojas, Salvador Rojas, Jr. and Kelli Rojas; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers; a sister and six half-brothers.
