Doloris Mary Hamilton was born to Albert and Edith Kaus on August 15, 1930 in Nebraska. She passed away on April 11, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. As a young child the family moved to Chicago, IL where they lived until she was a teenager. Once they moved to Chicago she met her lifetime friend Marty Enright. They remained friends until his passing in November of 2017. As a teenager the family then moved to California. She married Alvin Johnson in 1948. They were married until his passing from cancer in 1958. She then married her best friend Lloyd Hamilton in 1958. They remained married for 57 years until his passing in May of 2016.

Doloris held numerous jobs throughout her life. She worked in several different factories and a theater while living in Chicago. Once she moved to Tacoma she worked at the Old Mill Dance Hall and as a go-go dancer at Bob's Java Jive where she met her best friend of over 60 years. Doloris also worked several years at the Puyallup Fair as a ticket booth operator. Doloris started Dolly's Boutique and she and Lloyd enjoyed traveling to Mexico to purchase inventory to sell. Doloris loved to dance, paint oil paintings and make flower arrangements. She had the true spirit of an artist.

In their younger years, Doloris and Lloyd loved to spend time traveling by motorcycle to Reno and other locations. Doloris loved to shop and enjoyed twice a year outings to the Seattle gift show with her best friend and daughter and going to Ross to find little treasures. She was also an avid catalog shopper. Doloris was also an animal lover. She spent several years breeding and showing Maltese dogs and won many ribbons. She was a member of the Evergreen Maltese Club where she served as President for a period of time. When she wasn't taking care of her own dogs she would feed any of the wildlife that happened to appear in her yard including an occasional fox and coyote. She spent many hours watching the birds that returned to her bird houses each year. Most of all, Doloris loved spending time with her family and friends. As the matriarch of a large family she was always taking care of family members. She had even been named "Housewife of the Year". Doloris was very generous and always put her family first.

Doloris was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edith Kaus; her first husband, Alvin Johnson; her sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Jay Gove and her second husband, Lloyd Hamilton, Sr. She is survived by 3 sons, 2 daughters, a niece and nephew. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren with 1 great granddaughter on the way and 7 great-great grandchildren. Doloris is also survived by a foster sister named Marcella Garland.

A Funeral Service for Doloris will be held 2:00PM Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park in the Valley Chapel. A graveside service will follow with a reception then being held in the Willow Room.
