Cecil Lester Weshinskey, 77, of 1205 N. Vine, died Friday at 7:45 a.m. in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1903 in Arkansas to Julius and Susie Schmidt Weshinskey. He retired from the U. S. Army after 23 years of service and resided in Victoria for the past 20 years. Mr. Weshinskey was also a retired guard for Union Carbide and a member of First English Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Pearson officiating. Military graveside service under the direction of V. F. W. will follow with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lurline Weshinskey and a son, Walter Weshinskey, both of Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Bess Ogles of St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs. Ruth Gillespie of Pochahontos, Ill. and a brother, Jule Weshinskey of Marine, Ill.
Pallbearers will be Mark Beam, Herb Tucker, Jack Williams, John Kasper, Larry Mitchell and Richard Jones.

NOTE: Susanna Robertson Weshinskey's parents were William and Margaret Messinger Robertson. After her father passed away in 1884, her mother married John Schmidt in 1891. Susanna then used the last name of Schmidt. It is unknown at this time if she was legally adopted by John Schmidt or whether she used the name of Schmidt only as a convenience.
