John Randolph Preston was the Infant son of Edmund Randolph Preston and Julia Jackson Christian Preston. He was also the Great grandson of Lieutenant General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson.

"Mr. E Randolph Preston of Charlotte, N.C., is the guest of Mrs. Thomas L Preston. His wife has been in Lexington for some time past." From the 11 Aug 1909 issue of the Gazette (Lexington, VA). Suspect widow Lucy Waddell Preston was his host (also buried here).

John Randolph Preson only child of Edmund Randolph Preston and Mrs. Julia Jackson Preston of Charlotte, N.C., died Saturday night, Aug. 14, at 11 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Thomas L. Preston on Washington street in Lexington, Va. He was born in Charlotte, N.C., July 25, 1908, and death was due to cholera infantum from which he had suffered since May. He was a great-grandson of General Stonewall Jackson. He was buried Monday at noon in Lexington cemetery where so many of his forebears are interred. Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Preston, the Rev. Dr. Alfred T. Graham officiating.
