For many years, Betty was the Curator of Education for the Quartermaster Museum in Fort Lee, Virginia. She was a doll doctor, had a passion for books, history, genealogy, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Texie Beatrice (Young) Jones and Gaither Jones, her husband of over fifty years, George W Bishop, her brother, Rev Sam Wall, and her only grandson, Brandon C Bishop.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Bishop of Seattle WA; sons, Casey Bishop (Susan) of Prince George, Carson Bishop of Seattle, and Kyle Bishop (Anne) of Mechanicsville VA. Six granddaughters: Shae, Claire, Jill, Molly, Emma and Kate, and two great-grandchildren: Ty and Penny.
