Lucinda M. "Cindy" Acker, 75, Altoona, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday at Hillview Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she has resided since May 2008.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Daniel H. and Audra M. (Grove-Fonner) Delozier. On Oct. 12, 1974, she married Thomas P. Acker in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2001.

Surviving are three sisters: Ann Stahl of Altoona, Marjorie (Gerald) McCloskey of Bellwood and Sandra Lewis and friend, Ted Wisor, of Woodland; a sister-in-law, Benta Delozier of Altoona; a brother-in-law, George Thompson of Bellwood; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; her faithful friends: Mike and Amy Volovski of Altoona; and her many family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father in March 1984; her mother in March 1996; a brother, Daniel Delozier; a sister, Patricia Thompson; a brother-in-law, Bob Stahl; and two nephews: Randy Delozier and Bobby Wallace, all of whom will be meeting her at the Gates of Heaven.

Cindy was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed in the receiving department of Puritan Sportswear (Warnaco) for 25 years. She was a member of First Grace Brethren Church, Altoona, where she was the Sunday school superintendent, president of Women of Grace District, a member of Marathon Bible Class and the editor of the Marathon Messenger, and she served as the Bible school director for many years.

She loved to sing and praise His name. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power of prayer and the strength of Jesus Christ's love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing. She developed this faith at her church, where she was a member since she was a young lady. Cindy held many positions and worked hard to help the church grow, and she loved to decorate the church for all occasions. She continued sharing her love and walk with the Lord at Hillview.

She loved life, but cancer took the life of that joyous person from all who knew her. Her family and friends will see her again when they get to heaven, as she will be waiting for them.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 20218, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, Pastor Barry Rowe officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Cindy's memory be made to Camp Mantowagan, P.O. Box 95, Saxton, PA 16678, or to the American Cancer Society, Blair County Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
