Joshua M. Brown, 69, retired farmer and employee of the city parks died at a local hospital Monday afternoon following a coronary attack. He was admitted to the hospital Wednesday with an attack, and had been improving, when he suffered another coronary attack Monday.
He was born Feb. 23, 1889 at Wellsville, Utah, the son of Joseph R. and Jessie Murray Brown. His elemntary schooling was in Wellsville.
He served a LDS mission in California in 1916-1917. He was married to Beatrice Hyer in the Salt Lake Temple June 25, ????. They moved to Rigby December 1923, and then moved to the De??? district near Ammon in 1932 where he farmed. In 1943, they moved to Idaho Falls, where they have lived at 237 E. 15th St.
Mr. Brown was president of MIA in the Bybee Ward in Rigby, and the 3rd Ward he was the genealogical chairman for a number of years. In the 8th Ward he was secretary and group leader of the High Priest Quorum. He was also a stake missionary from 1955-57 in the South Idaho Falls Stake. He was also a 25-year scouter of the Teton Peaks Scout Council.
Besides his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by three sons and a daughter [all linked below]. Sixteen grandchildren survive and two brothers and one sister [linked below].
Funeral Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the LDS 8th Ward, with Bishop Glenn Westergard officiating. Friends may ???? at Wood Funeral Home until the time of services. Interment will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
