Mother Sandra Louise Priester-Blake, daughter of Deacon Ezekiel and Mother Doris Simmons Priester, was born on July 5, 1959, in New York, New York.
Mother Cookie, as she was affectionately called, was a graduate of Battery Creek High School, and had a variety of post high school educational experiences. Most importantly, she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She served faithfully in several capacities, from usher to hospitality; even as transportation committee president. Her faithful zeal and dedication to God drew many young people to God. She had a heart for the young and young at heart. You could always find her smiling of showing charity to someone.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gabriel E. Priester.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, John H. Blake; her parents, Ezekiel and Doris Priester; four children: Kenny (Ernestine) Graham, Sandrea (Leon) Bruce, Doris Priester and Shanika (Christopher) Waring; and adopted son, Terrence Thomas, Sr.; six grandchildren, Terrence, Jr., Demari, Sanaria, Zyon, Mahalya and Ka-Liah; four brothers: Ezekiel Priester, Donald (Reesheemah) Priester, Seth (Jackie) Priester and John (Amanda) Priester; one grand-aunt, Mary (James) Brown of New York; one grand-uncle, Ellis (Mary) Simmons of Grays Hill, SC; her mother-in-law, Sadie B. Blake; four brothers-in-law: David (Terry), Elijah, Robert (Lisa) and Anthony (Darlene) Blake; four sisters-in-law, Yvonne Fullington, Michelle Williams, Princetta and Julia Blake; uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, a devoted nephew, Ezekiel Priester; a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins . cousins ..and cousins from far and near, other relatives, her church family and friends and those who took her as Mother.
