Ada was the second wife of Rev. James W. Stamey. She married him in 1896 and by 1900 they had two children Gracie born June 1896 and Wick Carter b. Nov. 1898. On Gracie's death certificate it was reported that she was born in Galax, Carroll Co., VA. Galax is not in Carroll Co., but is a county unto it's own, Galax City Co. Ada passed away from Pulmonary TB. When the 1910 census was taken James was deceased and Ada now had three additional children. Hattie married a Potts and passed away Aug. 5, 1989 in Reisterstown, MD.
