RITES SET FOR MRS. PETTERSON
Watersmeet - Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Petterson, 78, who died Monday morning at 6 at the Smith Convalescent Home in Iron River, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 (CST) at the Union Congregational Church with the Rev. Fred I. Babcock officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Watersmeet Cemetery.
The former Caroline Long was born July 16, 1877 in Clintonville, Wis. She came here in 1901 and had resided here ever since, until last July when she entered the home at Iron River. She was married in 1902 to Albino Petterson. He died in the spring of 1945.
Mrs. Petterson was a member of the Union Congregational Church.
Survivors are three sons, Ray, Minneapolis, Irven, Bruce Crossing, and Rudolph, Watersmeet; six daughters, Mrs. George Tisdale, Milwaukee, Mrs. A. B. Brash, Los Angeles, Mrs. Robert Gear, Menasha, Wis., Mrs. Ruby Sauter, Milwaukee, Mrs. Joseph McGinty, Ewen, and Mrs. John Pallay, Milwaukee; 20 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the Brown Funeral Home, Bruce Crossing, which opened at noon today, to the Watersmeet Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

[FYI: She was born in Volhynia and her last name was Lange. However, after coming to the U.S, members of this family used the surname of Long.]
