CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Larry Gene Goetz, 71, of Chaffee passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at the family home.
He was born July 11, 1945, in Chaffee to the late Melvin and Bertha Martin Goetz. He married Vickie Steffens on June 2, 1973, and she survives of the home.
Larry served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. Larry was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Missouri, and its men's club. He also was a member of the American Legion in Jackson and Chaffee Elks Lodge No. 1810.
Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Kevin (Kristen) Goetz of Cape Girardeau and Ryan (Michelle) Goetz of Eureka, Missouri; one daughter, Amy (Matt) Richter of Jackson; one brother, Bill (Tina) Goetz of St. Louis; and six grandchildren, Beckley, Layton, Jake, Riley, Adelynne and Madison.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Steven Goetz.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, with full military honors.
