George E. Rothermel Obituary
George Rothermel, respected resident of Greenawalds died at his home on Tuesday morning at 3:30 o'clock from complications, aged 63 years, 11 mos., 24 days.
Mr. Rothermel was a son of the late William Rothermel and his wife Maria, Snyder, Rothermel, and was a native of Berks County. He formerly operated a farm but for the past twelve years, resided at Greenawalds and was employed in the L. F. Grammes Plant. He also served as tax collector in South Whitehall Township for four years. Fraternally he was a member of Washington Camp, 378, P. O. S. of A., of Guthsville, and of the Community Fire Co., of South Whitehall.
He is survived by his widow, Emma, nee Billig, and the following children, Harvey E., this city and Charles and Mrs. Maurice Leaser of Greenawalds. Four grandchildren and these brothers and sisters also survive, Henry and George of Kutztown; Mrs. Isabella Spohn, Breinigsville, and Mrs. Sybilla Xander, Reading. He was a member of Christ Reformed Church, Greenawalds.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at his late home, at 1:30 o'clock, daylight saving time. Continued services will be held in Christ Reformed Church, Greenawalds, and burial will be made in Grandview Cemetery. Rev. C. H. Kressley will officiate.
